Coaching Philosophies

Hi, I’m Jackie!
I’m a health and wellness coach specializing in the science of Positive Psychology. I work with individuals, professionals and athletes to improve the mindsets, behaviors, and habits that lead to self-actualization – which is the realization or fulfillment of one’s talents and potential.

In Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, self-actualization sits at the top of the pyramid, a coveted spot that requires deep knowledge, intention and practice to achieve. When achieving this, though, people experience greater: acceptance of one’s self and of others, appreciation, purpose, authenticity, peak experiences, efficiency, creativity, realism and overall well-being.

Why I Coach

In short, my path to coaching has come full circle. My very first job was coaching gymnastics. As a former gymnast, it was my gateway back to the sport.

I earned a Bachelor’s in Education, and an advanced degree in Business, and continued to pursue my passion for sport with a career in the front office. I spent fifteen years climbing the ranks, during which time I consulted with dozens of major league teams, leagues, conferences, networks and university sports teams on branding, business strategy and revenue generation.

Over time I discovered that my passion did not lie in sport itself, but in the journey I experienced through sport. The practice, the effort, the struggle, the failures, the endurance, the growth. So I returned to coaching to help apply these same ideals to other life experiences where mindset, behavior and habits are critical for success.
